Race, Tragedy, and the State of Our Nation

11 Jul Race, Tragedy, and the State of Our Nation

This past week has been tragic for America. The fatal shooting deaths of two African American men, Philando Castille and Alton Sterling at the hands of police has gripped a nation. The subsequent ambush and fatal shooting of 5 Dallas police officers (several others shot and wounded) was a kick in the gut to an already reeling nation.

Due to these tragic events, we wanted to take a break from our planned worship blog content and re-post a blog from Mid-Cities Church‘s senior pastor Daniel Stephens. We believe now is the time to come together, listen to one another, and work together to mend broken hearts. Now is the time for the people of God to pray and be moved to action. We are called to be “peace makers” and “salt and light” to the world.
